Select and research three creepy beasts for a monster battle on Halloween.
Research and Process
Collected information about the monsters to guide the creation of visual identity for each monster. Out of the three I created a collage work that spoke to my visual ideas of wokolo based on my research. Finally selected kishi to move forward with to the final.
Research on Wokolo, Banshee, and Kishi
Sketch ideas about the identity of Wokolo just trying to live his best life while humans keep being the real monster in the narrative.
Banshee as the great death metal siren. Posed and took photo of my kid and used it as photo reference of different sketches.
Kishi I had an idea as a guy running a safari forcing positive feedback on trip advisor, during the last night of the safari proceeded to finish off the guests one by one.
VISUAL RESEARCH USING COLLAGE
For this exercise I created poor Wokolo watching as his house gets destroyed featuring disdain and frustration.
Final Production
I went with Kishi analog drawing, scanned and digitally colored with Photoshop. Also, brought in a Polaroid vibe that maybe he kept as a memento to the safari that someone took from inside their tent just as things were about to go really bad.
