Brief
My objective was to create the 27th letter of the alphabet one for a serif font (Bodoni 72) and one for a sans-serif font (Gill Sans). To accomplish this I sketched out ideas for both by taking pieces from letter forms in the current alphabet.
From critique I moved forward with two that made the cut. Brought the sketches into Adobe Illustrator and began recreating the letter forms by slicing the existing characters to create the Frankenstein letters. prepared for more critique and eventually laying out spreads with Adobe InDesign for each letter inspired by Emigre and Lost Type as our inspiration.
